Origins of Sion

Since June 14th until July 21th we had a study time with Sister Elizabeth Losinski, a sister of Sion from the CANADA/US Region. We had daily sessions in the morning and afternoon about the spiritualties of Theodore and Alphonse , Sion’s Charism and the Rhineland Mystics who had a great influence on the life of Louise Humann (the spiritual mother of Father Theodore). Besides these sessions we had time to read and share the immersion reports of our General Chapter of 2016 and relate them with what we had studied. This experience facilitated us to have a better understanding of the Congregation and help us to embrace out roots since we had time to pray and reflect on these themes. At the end of the sessions we prepared a project. Each one of us had a different topic. Andrea reflected on Prayer Life, Lúcia on Spirituality, María on the Apostolic life and Nancy on our Charism. „St. John in Montana“ News 06/2016

The month of June brought with it a lot of wind and the heat of the desert, but also the excitement of the many feasts which we celebrated particularly in the last few days of the month. On the first of June we remembered the founding of Ein Karem in 1861, by Father Marie Alphonse Ratisbonne. The Muslims all over the world observed the month …

That all be one

The number one is always independent and is the principle of natural numbers (N). It also symbolizes the unity and the Creator who is the principle of all things. So we can say that ONE is the beginning and the cause of all things. It is unity with the Creator. Nothing can be added to this unit or subtracted from it. It is necessary, simple and unique just as the number one is necessary for all numbers, because without the number one, there would be no other numbers. If we annul number one, all numbers would be annulled. Great is the power of number one. So God is the beginning of all, God is unique and essential. We hear in Jewish prayer the words of the Shema: “Hear O Israel: The Lord our God is One and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your might and these words, which I command you this day, shall be in your heart“ (Dt. 6, 4-5) …
