Palm Sunday 2016

We, the novitiate in Ein Karem had our first Palm Sunday in Jerusalem with the Kehila community (Hebrew Speaking Catholics of Israel).

We went early to enjoy the walk and visit some places, it was a good walk from the Old City until Bethpage, the place where the disciples took the donkey to Jesus. It´s now a beautiful Church.

“When they were approaching Jerusalem, at Bethpage and Bethany, close by the Mount of Olives, He sent two of his disciples and said to them, ‘Go to the village facing you, and as you enter it you will at once find a tethered colt that no one has yet ridden. Untie it and bring it here’” Mark 11, 1-2.

The procession started in Bethpage Church near the Mount of Olives. We had a wonderful experience to enjoy of Palm Sunday with dancing and a lot of joy. As the people of the Bible we glorify God with all our heart:

“Hosanna! Blessed is He who is coming in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the coming kingdom of David our father! Hosanna in the highest heavens” Mark 11, 9b-10.

We concluded the procession entering the Old City. We, the novitiate community went to Mass with the brothers of Sion, on the way we enjoyed some coffee and hot chocolate first, but most important we enjoyed the campany of each other.
