“If music is the food of love, then play it on”

In our music class, we have learned new beautiful and lovely songs. Some of us have learned to play the guitar, the harp, and a one-on-one voice lesson with Fr. Werner Hebeisen, SJ. We worked all the time as a group. We keep the spirit of the group by giving out the best in us, and that is the most essential action in making things possible. We are not really musicians, but we go beyond our limitations by discovering and unveiling the hidden gifts that we possess with the help of our dear teacher who never give up in believing in us. I always remember the famous word in the whole session, especially when we were out of tune, to keep hoping that miracle will work. Indeed, it worked! Every single day, we were counting the miracles that happened, which boosted our self-esteem and gave us the courage to do it!
I’ve learned from this experience that you should never give up on the things you’ve been working on because sometimes things do not work out well according to our expectations. One thing I have learned also in playing the harp is not to keep the rhythm of the music, nor memorizing the chords, but rather to play with all my heart, and to give life to each word I sing like the living Word of God that can heal a broken soul.
It is a priceless experience to do things, which you think impossible to happen! But, indeed, nothing is impossible if each one will contribute his/her gifts and everybody will work together as a group.
And, the awaited day has finally arrived and that was our concert. We are very thankful until this moment for all the support from the sisters and friends who came in the concert to celebrate with us. Special thanks to Fr. Wermer Hebeisen, SJ for everything and for letting us realized the importance of music in our life especially in praising God. A big thanks also to Andreas for all the support, for everything he has done for us, and for always being at our side every time we most needed his help.
