On March 16th we celebrated Lúcia’s birthday. We started this special day celebrating mass together with all the sister of Sion from the Ein Karem community, the brothers of Sion, friends and associates of Sion. Then we had a nice breakfast at home. Lúcia received her gifts and we sang for her “Happy birthday” in different languages: English, Hebrew, Portuguese, Spanish, German and Bahasa.

At lunch time we continued celebrating Lúcia’s life with a beautiful prayer that sister Ivone prepared. We thanked the Lord for her life with Psalm 138(139), 1-2.13

“Lord, you examine me and know me,
you know when I sit, when I rise, you understand my thoughts from afar.
You created my inmost self, knit me together in my mother’s womb.”

After the prayer the novitiate community and sister María Luisa, from Costa Rica had a delicious lunch. We ate Brazilian food; rice, beans, ribs, salad. We sang again “Happy birthday” for Lúcia but this time with a lovely cake prepared by Andrea.

In the evening we had a good time going out for an ice cream.
We bless the Lord for Lúcia’s life and all her journey in Sion.
