Apostolic Experiences 2017, News

Lucia and Nancy’s first pastoral commitment

“We constantly seek the face of God. Sometimes he reveals himself to us in the silence of contemplation…At other times our experience of God is intimately linked to the encounter with, and the service of others” Const. 53

After our canonical year, spiritual year, of seeking the face of God in silence and contemplation, Nancy and Lúcia left the novitiate in Ein Karem and went on mission to the Ecce Homo’s community in the Old City. We are very happy to share community life with Srs. Bernadette and Trudy – Australia, Josélia – Brazil, Leah – Philippines, Maureen – UK/Ireland, Rita – Canada, Wafaa and Victoria – Egypt. Here we are part of the community and we are taking part in the ministry of the sisters in the guest house for two months.

During the month of May, we were involved in all the tasks that need to be done in the house. One of our hopes in carrying out our tasks was always to have and show our love, respect and dedication in everything that we did, from the most important to the least important task. In all of them we gave our love, respect and dedication. We are very happy to welcome and talk with the guests and visitors that came to our home.

We are glad to have had the experience in the Old City and especially to have had the experience in working with Muslims and Orthodox Catholics. We could feel and see that it is possible to have friendships among us, share some goodness of what we believe, and learn from each other our different experiences with the same God.
