„Go and proclaim!“ 2017

“I give you thanks, O Lord, with my whole heart; before the gods I sing your praise; I bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness; for you have exalted your name and your word above everything” Psalm 138, 1-2

On April 4th we officially closed our canonical year. Since the morning, this was a special day because our dear community decorated the house and prepared a tasty breakfast for us. Each one received a pair of sandals as a symbol of our next step, the apostolic year. The sandals are an invitation to leave our place in order to serve others where the Lord is sending us.

We continued our celebration on Saturday 8th. In the morning, we decorated the chapel for the mass that Father Carlos was going to celebrate at 6:00pm.

Sister Juliana and Sister Ivone prepared the food because after the mass the NDS communities and friends were invited to join us for dinner in our house.

We were so happy and grateful for all support and help that we received from Brother Tiago, Veronica (Polish volunteer), ConnecSion group of Sisters, Sister Darlene, Aracely, and Ana Catherine who during the week came to our house to prepare and practice the songs for our mass.

In the mass, Sister Clare, a Sister from the General Leadership, shared a moving reflection about the Virgin Mary and the Prophet Isaias as models of disciples who heard and followed God’s will. At the end of the mass, Father Carlos and the whole assembly made a special blessing sending us for our missions. During the first part of the apostolic experience, Andrea and Maria are going to Poland and Lúcia and Nancy are going to Ecce Homo. Then in the second part of the experience, Andrea and María will go to Ecce Homo and Lúcia and Nancy will go to Egypt.

We finished this wonderful day with a dinner in our house where people could see a power point presentation about each one of the members of the novitiate community and what we did in the novitiate community during the canonical year.

We thank the Lord, the Congregation, our families and friends who have walked and supported us during this unforgettable year of our lives.
